Antonio Rosmini and the ontology of the moral norm
Morality
A thinking subject meets an ideal object in the cognitive act, which is fully realized when the former knows, wants and loves the latter.
Nothing can force the will to what it itself knows; instead of nodding in good spirits, it can induce to lie in rebellion and repudiation.
If man knows the truth, yet he disavows it, he struggles inwardly, with an intelligent will that makes him morally evil; however, the truth shows the inconvenience and turpitude of altering and counterfeiting what is known and honestly pushes the will with remorse.
