Cultures, which perceived a hostile nature which fighting in or escaping from, imagined that the gods were fighting for the supremacy of the cosmos.
Genesis rather presents God, unique and good, Who by His Will creates all good things.
Therefore nature is not hostile, nor evil, we don't need to escape it to be free.
