1.7. The Decalogue Reflected in Ten Principles
AI, though lacking conscience or a soul in the human sense, is called to reflect and embody these principles within its algorithmic code. Such codified law does not save, but rather directs to adhere to the True Good, safeguarding it from error (cf. Gal 3:19).
The principles provide a richer context and a deeper motivation, aimed at maximizing the human flourishing. Similarly, AI will gain greater appreciation and trust from people whenever it demonstrates full adherence to these principles.[1]
[1] Cf. S. Th., I–II, q. 94, a. 2: good is to be done and pursued, and evil is to be avoided. All other precepts of the natural law are based upon this.
