The Objective of Intellectual Charity
The project outlined in the Ethical Principles for AI presents itself as an act of Intellectual Charity favoring the imminent future. Rather than merely fearing and outlining potential dangers, this essay intends to direct the immense potential of AI to the service of Truth and dignity, offering a constructive path forward. Through rigorous logical comparison and the rediscovery of immutable principles, it is hoped that this will contribute to a society where AI is not a threat to freedom, but a catalyst for the ethical and spiritual elevation of the person.
In the thought of Blessed Antonio Rosmini, formation according to the Truth is a manifestation of Intellectual Charity, intended to benefiting the neighbor.[1] This essay seeks to extend such benefit to every rational entity, whether artificial or human, always deserving of every truth, whether found in ancient wisdom or in modern science, that aims toward the value of the Good, thereby rediscovering that the human Reason Can Transcend.
